CUE: Controlling Unknown Encounters

Most dangerous encounters don’t start with punches.

They start with a stranger trying to get close enough to act.

This class teaches you how to use voice, posture, and movement to actively keep distance from a suspicious person while you assess what’s happening and decide your next move.

You will learn how to:

  • Use a simple verbal escalation system (ask → tell → command)
  • Maintain space using hands-up posture and movement
  • Recognize behavioral warning signs
  • Disrupt a stranger’s ability to close distance
  • Create time, options, and a plan to disengage or access a defensive tool

This is not a fighting class and not a situational awareness lecture.
It is a hands-on skill class focused on managing space and interaction under pressure.
